The Struggle to Change

Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.

Happy New Year!  At the start of a new year it is common for people to make resolutions and many fail to keep them after only a few weeks.  While the resolutions we make can be good for us, we can find it hard to break old habits and feel that change is almost impossible.

This morning, we are going to look at Paul’s words to the church in Corinth and how he shared that accepting Christ is the biggest change we could possibly make.  Our faith isn’t about having good habits, but understanding that Jesus affects everything.  So, if we are going to make a change that will last, we must remember that it has to begin in the heart, and allow it to affect everything about us; what we see, what we say and how we live.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2Co 5:17 NIV)
