Let There Be Praise (Palm Sunday 2016)

Play Audio

Did you know that the REAL Palm Sunday doesn’t happen in the Gospels, it happens in the book of Revelation? On Palm Sunday the people of Jerusalem thought they were welcoming a conquering king, someone who was entering the city to bring in the reign of King David. But the people were wrong, their praise was hollow, and the support was fickle.

In Revelation, however, we see visions of the true church worshiping Christ as the King of Kings, and as the conqueror, and guess what they have in their hands? Palm branches!

Today, as we worship the Lord, let us not worship him with hollow words or selfish motives, let us worship Him in spirit and in truth, and then we will find that there is great power in the church, when the church worships God.

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb!”

Rev. 7:9-10
