He chose you before you chose Him.
Jesus is amazing! That is to say, that Jesus causes wonder and surprise especially, because he doesn’t do, what we expect. When Jesus entered into Jerusalem, people cheered thinking, that it meant the salvation of Jerusalem ,and to see the Messiah, but no one expected it to mean salvation for all mankind.
This morning Pastor Dan will teach us that we are no different than Joshua, that if we are fighting the good fight and battling the power of sin in our lives, and it feels like we are running out of time, just ask the sun to stand still! If Joshua did it, so can you – and you will find that there is always enough time to win the battle over evil.
Today we begin a two part sermon on the War for Canaan. These chapters can be difficult for us to read, but the message for today is that we must always be at war with sin, and we must always be ready to drive it from our lives – even when it looks harmless. And when we do make a mistake, we must give that mistake to God, and he will find a way to redeem our shortfall.
Today pastor Dan will share the hardest story in the book of Joshua, a story of sin, rebellion, and terrible consequences. Today we learn that God is not to be taken lightly. When His Word command us to act in a certain way, we must obey, or face the consequences. And worst of all, our sin often affects other people. The Promised Land is not be to taken lightly.
