From the beginning of the Bible, in Genesis, until the end, in Revelation, we see the Lord transforming lives. Jacob, who was known for trickery, received a new name, Israel, and became an honest, transparent person. Moses, afraid of the wrath of the Egyptian Pharaoh, later faced the king with courage and he led Israel out of Egypt. Moses courageously led his nation during 40 years through incredible difficulties.

In the New Testament,  everyone who met Jesus Christ was challenged to either change in their character, or to continue in their rejection of the ways of the Kingdom of Heaven. Mary Magdalene lived outside of normal social contacts, but her life was changed through Jesus. Saul, a persecutor of Christians, became a tireless preacher, planter of churches and writer, always explaining the Gospel to men and women, rich and poor, free and slaves. God continually comes to us with the purpose of transforming us into the image of Christ.
